Frank -

I adore the vision of this New Story project. Thanks for sharing this with me and the world. We are indeed in between stories as a collective society, and the process of shaping that new story container is both a bit daunting and exhilarating when one considers the breadth of opportunities.

Part of what is accelerating this techtonic shift in the larger story, is that the means of story production have been democratized. the very medium for storytelling is evolving and transforming thru all this technology and social media. There's a 1001 ways to get your story out. And everybody is waking up to the fact that they have a story to tell. And that collectively we all contribute to some larger story. Making sense of that larger story is what every group, culture, and organization has to go and define for themselves. In a way that is generative, so that more people want to join their fold.

My just released book Believe Me - a storytelling manifesto for change-makers, can be my contribution to your "New Story for a New World" project. The book explores many of these exact ideas, related to the evolving role of story in this adaptive age. People can download a free excerpt if this sounds interesting - www.believemethebook.com

In the states, the Functional Medicine movement, led by Mark Hyman (@markhymanmd) http://www.ultrawellness.com/blog,
is documenting the connection between factory food and degenerative disease.

Futurists should definitely be following their work. They have a novel concept - medicine should promote health; fighting disease is a day late and a dollar short.

I feel as though I have begun this project in a way with my Freedom Blog. I am trying to explain the story as I see it evolving in me. I have a couple of Ideas immediately. I will begin a multi-post series, two ideas that come to mind now are "do-it-yourself-mysticism" and "a new ager looks at atonement." Thanks for stirring the creative pot!

Yes, Chris, I agree. At its foundation, such an evolutionary shift is one toward systemic thought and complexity. A holoptic environment would be one in which complex adaptive systems would be prevalent, and nodal networking (with the distinctive of the nodes intact) would lead to emergent properties and the "whole" or purpose of the system being realized. In this way, the "parts" of the system would know how to act and react to make the purpose of the system function. (Hmm, human systems emulating biological systems and natural growth patterns, imagine that!) ;)

Thanks for adding your insights and visiting our site. We are big fans of IFTF, and look forward to finding out more about CageFree Consulting! Love your blog, adding it to the KedgeForward links.
