This should be an easy one, right?
It’s all about the dream!
What I’m tring to say is this: Vision and anticipation of things to come are what drives us. Change is constant. (figure that one out!) We are always moving from “glory to glory,” so to speak – from one order of expression to a higher order (ideally, at least). And when the vision becomes a reality – when it reachs its manifestation or fulfillment – we find ourselves needing a new vision. As a matter of fact, we find ourselves needing a new (or “next stage”) driving vision even when we see that the old one is about to be fulfilled. This is the essence and nature of transformation: Things can always be changed beyond where they are today! Creative development knows no other path.
Now for those who completely disagree with my greater enjoyment of Christmas Eve over Christmas Day, I understand. That day is (or can be) a wonderful time for family and friends to gather and celebrate. But – for me – there’s just something mystical, sacred, otherworldly, mysterious, hidden – yes, even anticipatory about Christmas Eve. It’s the promise of what is to come, what could be, what should be, and the dreams that encapsulate the entire season. It’s as if Christmas Eve represents a “celebration of vision and aspiration,” and this is a building block in creative foresight. When the day arrives, I find myself already looking forward to the next opportunity for anticipation and vision. This is an important quality for everyone, both individually and collectively.
So, here’s wishing you a wonderful Christmas Eve – may its’ spirit of wonderment and possibilities carry over into all that you think and do throughout the coming year!

I love Christmas Eve as well. We don’t ‘feast’ on Christmas in my house — we do it on Christmas Eve, fire for ambiance and all. Our little feast isn’t very tradtional (I don’t think anyway). We create a “cold plate” out of our favorite Hickory Farm like stuff. We munch and play games.
The evening epidemizes Christmas in that everything has been readied for the next day. There’s a moment (for me anyway) of peaceful relaxation, just to take a breath and enjoy the season.
As a mom, I run around quite a bit leading up to that point, and will be up running the house on Christmas as well. I love the scurry too, because it also creates that relished moment of peace.
Great post Frank
